What is Salsa?
Come dance with us every Sunday night in Phoenix 🪩 at Fatcat Ballroom - Phoenix Dance Studio. Join Miguel for Salsa Fever Sundays, the best Latin dance lessons in Phoenix for Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, and more.
🐈 Salsa features quick, exciting footwork and lively rotational patterns, making it the ultimate social dance for showing off personality.
🐈 Bachata relies on close partner connection and fluid hip movement to express deep emotion through every step.
🐈 And Cumbia uses easy, steady side-to-side steps and joyful circular patterns, making it the rhythmic soul of the dance floor.
You’ll rotate partners, practice technique, and gain confidence in a relaxed and friendly studio atmosphere. It's the ultimate Latin dance class for adults in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe. Latin dancing is all about rhythm, energy, and community.
Why leave early? Stick around! The moment class stops, the Valley's favorite Latin Dance Party: Salsa Fever Sundays 🎉🥳 spins to life, offering instant, effortless fun that makes every minute of class worth it!
📅 What to Expect
Get ready for your ultimate Latin dance night! 🌶️ Sunday Salsa Fever is where you learn the high-energy pulse of Salsa after the sensual flow of Bachata or the infectious rhythm of Cumbia, a complete immersion experience with two group lessons and culminating in our open Latin dance party.
Step into Fatcat Ballroom 👋, check in at the front desk, and find a spot along the benches for your shoes, bag, or a quick rest.
Each class begins with a short demo before we break down the steps for leaders and followers—sometimes together, sometimes separately—then bring it all to life in partnership on the dance floor 🪩. We rotate partners every few minutes 🔃 for rapid learning, building confidence in your dance frame and connection, and create a low-pressure, judgment-free environment for everyone.
No partner nor experience needed—our fun, approachable instructors welcome everyone, from absolute beginners to competitive dancers. Join us for the 🏷️ most affordable ballroom dance lessons and adult dance classes in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe, and meet new people who were brave enough to start dancing too.
🙋♂️ Men welcome — Leaders wanted! We often have more followers than leaders, which means plenty of partner dancing and floor time to improve your lead quickly. Dress comfortably, wear smooth-soled shoes 🥿 and BYO refreshments 🫧 to enjoy between songs.
🎯 By the end of this session, you'll be confidently navigating the dance floor with fundamental footwork and the rotational lead/follow skills needed to make every Latin: Salsa, Bachata, and Cumbia dance party your own.
